- Alan had a number of jobs before graduating from London University with a doctoral degree in 2003, including archaeology (Roman and Medieval), restaurant and kitchen work in a hotel and work in a special school (which he considers the pinnacle of his career to date). Following a spell in academic research (London and Durham) Alan decided to jump ship once again and landed in the Channel Islands.
